12 Days of Parkmas

KOIRO 12 Days of Park-mas - Contest Rules

Introduction

Activating in the parks is what keeps POTA alive — it gets radios into the outdoors, shows the hobby to the public, and builds skills. But none of it works without hunters at home; every QSO from the shack makes activations possible. This contest celebrates both sides: the activators braving the parks and the hunters who keep them connected.

12 Days of Park-mas

Activators (in the parks)

  • Each QSO = 2 points
  • Day 1: 2 points per QSO
  • Days 2–12:
    • New park = 4 points per QSO
    • Same park = 2 points per QSO
    • It’s a park a day. You can’t get all 12 parks on one day!
  • No band restriction (other than normal license rules)
  • Mode restriction: SSB or CW only
FT, RTTY, and other data modes are not accepted

Hunters (at home/QTH)

  • Each QSO = 1 point
  • Hunters must log QSOs and send them in for verification
  • No band restriction (other than normal license rules)
  • Mode restriction: SSB or CW only
FT, RTTY, and other data modes are not accepted

Points don’t combine!
Work either from the QTH or from the park — really work from the park. That’s the spirit of this!
